i don't want for any

Giovanni Smith (they/them)

this poem is a reminder that it’s okay to acknowledge burn out.
i don’t want to think
about anything
i remember

or about anything related to the sky
that has a star as a metaphor for my longing
i don’t wanna
think

about how to happy
i don’t wanna think  about  how
i haven’t figured out how to take a breath
and believe in that kind of purpose

i don’t
want to think about how not to feel
like i am somewhere i will never be
or like i am all the places i want to get out of

i don’t want to think about my pain
or the debris
